Common pricing questions

Why is registration free?

Registration is our acquisition wedge. We make money on the optional Treasure Map subscription, the Estate Plan™ sponsorships, and per-search fees from people looking up registered wills. The testator never pays.

Do you refund unmatched searches?

No. You pay for the lookup, not the result. This mirrors Canadian Will Registry's policy and the broader industry.

Is the Estate Plan™ really free?

Yes. In Canada it's sponsored by Barrett Tax Law (legal/tax-planning ideas) and Donsky & Donsky Legacy Optimization (insurance quotes). You can ignore the sponsors entirely — the ideas are still yours.

Cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel any Treasure Map subscription at any time. Your data and your registry entry stay — the registry side is free forever regardless of subscription status.

Why a separate $149 fee for the Executor Toolkit?

The $80 unlock fee buys you read-only access to the deceased's asset inventory. That's the registry side of the product. The Executor Toolkit (checklist, beneficiary tracker, ledger, document generators, close-out PDFs) is the operational side — it's what walks you through actually administering the estate. Executors of deceased Treasure Map subscribers get it free; everyone else pays the one-time add-on. No subscription, no time limit, no per-document upcharge.

Is the 30% loyalty recovery fee negotiable?

The rate is locked at signing in the engagement agreement, and it's configurable per case. For high-value cases (estates with material loyalty exposure across multiple programs) we'll often agree to a lower rate. Ask us. The maximum is 30%; we will not retroactively raise the rate on value already recovered.

What if Loyalty Recovery finds nothing?

You owe nothing. The contingency model means the fee applies only to net recovered value — gross less the program's own fees. Programs that forfeit on death (Delta, PC Optimum, Triangle Rewards, Southwest, etc.) are recorded in the close-out statement at $0 with no fee due.
